FCC update to be released around Xmas?

Hi, I’ve been considering hopping back into FCC and heard there might be a big update to the platform around Xmas. Does anyone have any information on this? What’s included? Is it a complete overhaul where I’d have to start from the very beginning? I wouldn’t mind re-doing everything using ES6 and higher order functions anyway, but don’t want to start and see all my work disappear in a few days.
