Feature Request: Built-in Code Runner for Mobile App

Hi freeCodeCamp Community,

First off, I want to say that I absolutely love this app! It is incredibly well-made and has been a fantastic way to learn to code.

I’m writing to suggest a feature that could make the app even better: a built-in code runner. While the app is great for reading lessons and following the curriculum, it would be amazing if users could type, test, and run their own code directly in the app.

Having a built-in sandbox or test environment would allow us to:

  • Experiment and “play” with the concepts we are learning in real-time.
  • Try out different solutions without needing a laptop.
  • Better understand how code behaves by tweaking it directly on our phones.

Is this something the development team might consider adding to the app in the future? Thank you for the incredible platform and all the hard work you put into it!

It would be amazing to have an unrestricted sandbox on top of the guided lessons. Here are the main benefits

1 ) Open Workspaces: A blank canvas to test personal code ideas without strict pass/fail conditions.

2) Personal Experiments: A dedicated area to type entirely new scripts from scratch to see how different concepts behave.

3) On-the-Go Practice: A quick way to test out new programming ideas exactly when they pop into your head.

Having this kind of freedom would make it much easier to practice and retain new concepts on a phone
