Feedback on my First Portfolio Page

Hello! I’ve been working away on my first portfolio page, and I think I’m getting there. I know it’s not the most professional of portfolio pages, but as I have only been coding for a week, I’m not really hireable yet, so that doesn’t bother me. I just wanted to make something fun and cute for the practice.

Here is the link to the codepen: https://codepen.io/kkannen/full/xdvzGw/

If anyone actually feels like picking through the code, I’d love advice on how to make it a little more concise (I think my code contains a lot of redundancies).

I’d also love to hear some ideas on why the “about” section is not the same width as the other sections. I’ve tried adjusting margins and padding and such, but it does not respond.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I see you have trouble with the 'Nav-bar"
go to this link Navbar snippets to get some better ideas.

As for your coding, on the CSS part, check your syntaxs.
Codepen is telling you something is wrong.

Other than that, you portfolio is looking good. ( A retired biologist?)
On a side note, my daughter is starting college and plans to be a biology teacher…

Enjoy!
