I graduated last may with a degree in web development. I got good grades, I have good internship references. Since then I have applied for 200 jobs, I have gotten a total of 3 interviews. The junior positions have all dried up, the local job board has the same 4 positions that are reposted once every 2 months where they ask for at least 3 years of experience. I have a job at the moment, where I was offered a permanent positions a couple of days ago I make just about enough to stay afloat. I plan on staying in this job but it feels I am getting further and further away from the field I graduated in.
i was listening to an old episode of the freeCodeCamp podcast (from 2018-05-28 “How you can start a career in a different field without experience”) and I think I got some good ideas from the presenter on ways to grow your network to get a job. Might be worth a try for you.
