Hello to everyone,
this is my first post here and I’d like to ask for some career advices.
I am 29 have studied computer science 10 years ago, I have always wanted to become a software developer, but I was not able to complete the bachelor due to undiagnosed ADD and also lacking some maths skills.
In school, due to my lack of focus, I have never become a great programmer, I was always either able to find the solution to the problem, but struggled into putting it into code or struggling in understanding the request.
Since I left the university, I became discouraged with everything, I have worked here and there in the IT field, but without improving my skills much, since the pay was always good, I didn’t bother much.
Now, I am stuck in a job I don’t like and I discovered I can’t move from it since I have no real marketable skills.
This was a real wake up call for me. And after many months of thinking and reflecting on my situation, I decided that I was done with wasting time and I wanted to seriously start to study/prepare for a future job as developer and because of that, I would like to ask you what it will be the best path I should follow.
At this point I consider myself a total beginner, I don’t want to fool myself into thinking I am better than what I really am, so I prefer start fresh and assuming I have 0 knowledge, that I don’t even know what coding means.
Thank you very much for your attention!!
JJ
