I don't want anything to do with front end, can I skip it?

I’m almost finishing a CS degree and wanted to learn how to code for the web for a while, but every time I start learning HTML/CSS and design centered code I always lose my motivation and stop (I know it sounds silly…).

I read the https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/2019-web-developer-roadmap/ developer roadmap for back end and there’s none of this kind of thing… so my question is this, can I just skip the first part of the curriculum for freeCodeCamp if I want to be a back end dev?

Thanks…

well, I don’t see why not. Looking at curriculum, Apis And Microservices Certification (300 hours) can help get you started on backend with NodeJS

If you start at “Apis And Microservices Certification (300 hours)” you need to know javascript. This section is about node.js, express, mongodb, and mongoose. Node.js is JavaScript so if you already know javascript you can start there.
