Is codepen the absolute?

The codecamp’s exercises say to use codepen for the projects but is it absolute? Because I want to use github to store my pages and assets and I have no idea how to upload images and icons stored in my computer to codepen without paying for pro.

You can use GitHub, but you will still need a live version of the page. You can use GitHub pages.

Or something like CodeSandbox will let you upload assets.

Yeah I was thinking of using GitHub Pages. But it said build an codepen.io app so I was a bit confused.

I guess I can use GitHub then. That’s good

It’s just to give people an easy way to host their project. As long as the site is live and you have the test script on the page it doesn’t matter where you host it.

From the FAQ:

Do I have to use CodePen for the front end projects?

As long as your code is publicly viewable, and you have a live demo, you can use whatever you want.

You can use GitHub pages or surge.sh as alternatives to CodePen.
