I thought that this is what the question meant and I have tried so many variations but it still keeps telling me to nest my new div elements within the container one. What am I doing wrong? Please can someone help me here, I thought I finally understood it.

Hello, each div needs its closing tag
behind the opening tag, you gave the
last div 4 closing tags in your code.
Best give each div its own line as long as it is empty.

Here’s a keyboard shortcut trick to copy the same
element multiple times:
Select what you want to copy, in your case
<div class="marker"></div>",
then press and hold shift and alt
press the down arrow as many times as you need,
in this challenge two more times.
