Why do you have an if statement? there isn’t any mention of one in the instructions

I thought for the comparison. I have to say to the program if there is a space print …
or did i get something wrong?

Can you explain it to me because I have no idea.

At the beginning of your loop body, print the result of comparing char with a space (' ' ). Use the equality operator == for that.

No mention of an if statement, comparisons don’t require if statements

Here you are asked to print a comparison

you are doing it, but inside the if statement. Remove the if statement

When I make this changes as you described, at first I get a failure message about this colon
an when I correct it I got the message: Traceback (most recent call last):
File “main.py”, line 8
print(char == ’ ')
IndentationError: unexpected indent

My code looks like this now:
text = ‘Hello World’
shift = 3
alphabet = ‘abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz’
encrypted_text = ‘’

for char in text.lower():
char == ’ ’
print(char == ’ ')
index = alphabet.find(char)
new_index = index + shift
encrypted_text += alphabet[new_index]
print(‘char:’, char, ‘encrypted text:’, encrypted_text)

unexpected indent means you have a line indented wrong

Indentation is not visible, please format your code correctly
When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.

You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>) to add backticks around text.

See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (').
