Legacy JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures vs Beta JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures

I’m Interested in learning JavaScript for Back-end with node.js, I’m not a fan of Project-Based learning, Which cert will be better for me, the Legacy JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures or the Beta JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures?

The beta one is project based so you should refer to the legacy one.

Hi @DaBrave210

The Legacy course is not project based, however you will need to complete five projects to claim the certificate.

The Legacy version however is geared towards JavaScript, so there is not much exposure to html or css.

In the Beta version you learn local storage and how to fetch data using an API, and coverage of html and css using JavaScript.

I’m not sure which will be better for you. Maybe a mix of the two.

On the job, project based work will definitely occur.

Happy coding

Will i learn more in the legacy cert or the beta cert?

they are different in some respects but alike in others. It is hard to answer this question.

You will learn more about JavaScript in the legacy version.
You will learn more about using JavaScript with html and css in the beta version.
