Tell us what’s happening:
This is now the 3rd time in as many months that in the (rare) event I actually sign out of my fCC account thru my browser (Google Chrome; updated daily), any attempt to re-sign in (using my Github credentials, the same account I signed up initially with) is completely reset & I find myself on a blank profile page treating the log-in as completely new.
This seems to be a recurring problem with plenty of accounts. I don’t understand how a site that’s supposed to be a beacon for non-“tech”“code”“web” folks continues to have log-in issues, of which there doesn’t appear to be any sort fix (e-mailing admins ain’t it; that’s the first brick in the road of wanting to look for instruction elsewhere).
Could y’all perhaps create a sticky in the Support forum highlighting this issue & supplying instructions to correct it, even if only temporarily. I c&p every bit of info out of the fCC editor & save it locally to save me too much aggravation, but even c&p’ing all of it back into each block of the curriculum seems unnecessary & ends up just frustrating me even further.
I hate to sound like I’m piling on you folks; I am eternally grateful for this resource & the myriad volunteer hours poured into this site trying to assist people with their lives/careers. But accessing the material, as the user had left it & with accurate recording of curriculum completion, seems to be part & parcel of how fCC should operate & the time wasted trying to fix credentialing (especially with 1-click sign-in options) feels like an oversight of some sort.
