I find it extremely difficult to complete an entire course in one sitting with distractions, interruptions and just the amount of time that it can take. It seems like whenever I get pulled away and return, I end up having to completely restart the course. I’ve completed two courses in the time I could have probably could have completed 3-4 due to have to start from scratch each time. Any tips on how I can pick up where I left up in my CodeRoad once I get kicked out?
Hello and Welcome to the forum!
I found a few links in previous responses to this issue, that may help you.
Happy coding!
Thank you fo r the links. I was having a difficult time finding the correct syntax to search for what I was looking for. However, I’m not sure that I found the issue I’ve been experiencing. When I find the appropriate file with the right spot where I left off, I get stuck at the project$ prompt. I try to re-enter the psql credentials and get the following error:
psql: error: connection to server at “127.0.0.1”, port 5432 failed: Connection refused
Is the server running on that host and accepting TCP/IP connections?
It just happened again while I was actively working at about the 70% mark of the mario exercise. I already restarted this once when I was at 25% so I really don’t want to start it a 3rd time. Any ideas on how I can get around this error? I get this every time I try to recover the project I was most recently working on. TIA!
I am sorry that the links I provided did not address the issue you are facing with you coding experience.
Perhaps, somebody, in the community with more knowledge will be able to provide guidance.
Another suggestion is to reach out to the support group,
I hope it can be resolved for you.
Happy coding!
Welcome there,
In general, you can just restart the same workspace, run CodeRoad: Start
, and you should be taken back to where you previously were.
Have you ever managed to restart a workspace from a previous lesson? Or, are you always taken back to lesson 1?
Hi there. I’m still pretty new to the site. It’s happened on all 3 courses I’ve done, so I’m aware now that I’m going to have to make sure I’ve got a couple hours to make sure I have no interruptions. Each time that I’m away for an extended period of time (I’m thinking at least 15 minutes), it’s like I get logged out or something. The CodeRoad seems to stay in the same place of the lesson, but I’m not able to log back in due to the 5432 error, so I can’t do anything with that lesson. I’ve just ended up having to restart by opening a new link each time. I’m getting better with the practice, no doubt! But I’m really burning through my credits quickly…
Have you read the linked guide post to answer some of your questions: How to Use Gitpod in the Curriculum
I have never seen the connection
error you mentioned.
