Rookie issues on my Tribute page! Columns, text span, etc

Hi and thanks for your help! As you can see, I am having some issues with my bootstrap columns not aligning correctly. The 12 column is not floating correctly over my 6 columns. the height of my 6 columns are not even as well. AND, most annoying of all, in my left 6 column, my text only spans half the column WHY?!?!?!

Also, my columns do not seem to be responsive.

Content should be placed within columns, and only columns may be immediate children of rows.

Thanks, the guide and tip was very helpful. I was able to correct my errors.
