Using codepen is optional.

If you know how to use git then you can upload your code to github and deploy your website using something like github pages or netlify.

If you want to learn about git and github then you can watch this beginner tutorial

If you don’t want to mess with all of that setup, then you can use codepen.
Create a free codepen account.
Copy and paste your code into codepen.
copy the url link for the pen and submit that.
