I can’t access the below URLS:

My user agent is:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/90.0.4430.212 Safari/537.36

The chat link does not work for me as well, but I can’t put more than two links. I’m also from the Philippines so that may be the problem of not being able to access the main websites. The dev website works for me though.

Yes, I agree with you. I am using PLDT, Smart and Sun as my ISP but nothing works. So I tried using Globe, www.freecodecamp.org works perfectly fine. I also asked my friend if it works for him and he said that it works on his end, he uses Converge.

Oh, so that’s why! My internet provider is PLDT. I have a friend from the province who tried to connect via Converge and it’s working for her as well. I thought the problem was area-specific. I was able to connect just now via a VPN.

Same! I used ProtonVPN. It works perfectly fine now

Hii. I also encountered the same problem. I am trying the ProtonVPN now, can you tell me how did you do it before it worked?

THis happens to me. i fixed it by clearing my browser cookies and cache

Thanks for the quick feedback and comments everyone.

This helps narrow down the issue. Is there a reason that those ISPs would block the site?

Can someone help us reach out to them?

not sure if this is related, but recently PLDT partnered with IWF and started blocking some sites. It may have mistakenly blocked FCC.

I just joined this forum just to post a comment on this thread.

I’m also in Philippines, also using PLDT.

For the past week-ish I’ve been unable to load any freecodecamp.org URLs (i.e. articles I find when I google technical topics). No other technical domain on the internet that I’ve come across is giving me this issue. Dunno why it seems to be just FCC in particular, but yeah, maybe PLDT has made a mistake and continues to be unaware of it.

Hi @raisedadead ,

I’m also from the Philippines, and I’m stuck with exactly the same issue as my colleagues in the Philippines do for a few days now.

As you have suggested, I tried to log-in to the dev version and succeeded. Could this be a problem with fcc’s primary domain?

While logged-in to the dev version, I noticed that my settings, lessons earned and certificate are gone; perhaps, it’s because this is for your internal use only (I’m just guessing).

Your kind resolution to this issue is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

joMari

Hi @raisedadead ,

I noticed that all of us from the Philippines who are having the same issue have one and the same ISP, which is PLDT.

Would it be possible from FCC side to communicate with our ISP to inquire and clarify if ‘fcc.org/learn’ has been blocked (if at all, for whatever reason)?

Thanks,
joMari

would you be willing to help?

Hi,

In what way do you suggest for us to reach out to this ISP?

Best shot, from my end, would be to call the ISP’s technical support team and make a personal inquiry on this issue, as I can’t speak on behalf of fcc as an entity. Whatever response I can collect from their end, that I can relay back to fcc.

Let me/us know your thoughts.

Thanks,

joMari

I don’t think there is anyone from fcc in the Philippines, so there is need for a volunteer that would inquiry on why they are blocking FreeCodeCamp and how to go for unblocking the website

Hi,

At this point we cannot conclude yet if the ISP has truly blocked our fcc.org site on purpose, as we can still manage to enter in the forum. Nonetheless, I’ll make an inquiry to the ISP’s tech dep’t. to see what response can we get in light of this issue.

It’s night time here, so probably in the morning by tomorrow.

Thanks

Hi @ILM @raisedadead ,

I was able to call the customer service dept of the ISP (PLDT), who relayed the issue to their tech team at the same time, and confirmed to me that the issue is not on the DNS side but on the primary domain (web server).

I think this can also be confirmed by the fact that I can log-in to fcc dev version , but not in the primary domain.

Hope this would help you trim down the source of the problem.

Please let us know if and when the problem has been resolved.

Thanks,
joMari
