I am a new learner in tech industry. And I am struggling with my choices, frontend or backend? I just want to get a job ( global remotely is the best, second choice is in Canada). So, basically this question can put it this way, which one hires more people than the other? Is it any advice which one should I choose? Thank you for your replying.
I would worry less on spending a ton of effort finding the bestest path and instead put that energy into learning the basics.
My opinion is finding a best way is the first step, and then followed by putting your energy in. It’s like two roads for you to drive, one is flat and broad, you can easily speed up to 80 miles, the other one is winding and uneven. Because this is about swithing careers, so I want to find the flat way first and make sure my effort worthy. Thank you.
Hey @filics
My advice might sound silly but I still think It is anyway an important one:
You should let your passion decide. If while studying/exploring the backend part of it you feel more curious than when you do with the frontend one you should go for the backend and vice versa.
Keep in mind that the nowadays the coding interviews for most of the companies are similar regardless of front end or back end openings.
Whatever you will choose will not be a waste of your time.
Thank you for replying. But I really don’t have a preference over frontend or backend. So either way is suit for me. The only factor that impacts my choice is the topic I ask: which one is easier to get a job.
That’s just not really the best approach here. Learn the fundamentals first. Don’t procrastinate by trying to find the ‘easy’ path because there isn’t one. Programming is hard.
Also, you can’t really make good decisions about the field without some basic knowledge.
Thank you for your replying. Though I still don’t change my mind. But let’s keep our opinions and move forward, thanks again!
Good luck trying to figure out the optimal path I guess
Learning programming takes years of work so let us know when you’re ready to start. The freeCodeCamp curriculum is a good place to learn the fundamentals
I have already started by myself. Forgive me didn’t choose freecodecamp if you are one of the starters of this web, just it’s much easier for me to learn coding in my native language.
It doesn’t matter where you learn. It matters that you start instead of obsessing over picking the ‘one true path’.
Both frontend and backend are hard. Get whatever job you can.
Both are difficult to get, can you answer below
-
What’s your earlier experiences in tech industry ?
-
Education background
-
Did you check your local job site to find out which once are more in demand ?
-
If you’re starting from scratch based on your dedication and hard work, it will take min. 1 year+ to be job ready
Nothing is easy in tech world
-
None.
-
Bachelor degree.
-
Yes, and it seems to me that they need senior backend engineers and junior frontend engineers. So in that case, maybe frontend suits me better.
-
Yeah, that’s what I assume, too.
Good to see that you found your own answers, this is how you write “software as well”
Break down big problem into smallest chunk possible and start solving that small chunk of problem with code.
All the very best
