Why am I unable to link to Discourse Meta?

I attempted to add the undermentioned to t/764040:

However, I saw:

new users have restrictions on what they can link, to limit spammers, partecipate in the forum a little longer and you will be able to

but it also seems like you found a workaround here

@ILM, so it’s a rather poorly phrased message about my trust level, rather than a specific domain being blacklisted? (I’ve not seen this message at other instances.)

there is a limited number of hosts that a new user can link to, the limit disappears once your trust level increases, that’s correct

@ILM, the message is different elsewhere for that. If this instance is using an old version of Discourse, maybe this is just a little more reason to update. Thanks!

this is an instance managed directly by discourse, they keep it updated
