Why aren't css variables supported by IE?

Hey, does someone know why the css variables doesn’t supported by IE? I searched a little but couldn’t find an answer…

IE is not even a supported browser. It has not been under active development for a while and will not support any new features.

Hi @demiralit !

Welcome to the forum!

I created a new topic for you since this is a new and separate conversation from the previous thread.

Welcome to the community @demiralit!

The latest version of IE which is IE 11 stopped receiving updates a long time ago. CSS variables (technically called “custom properties”) is a relatively new addition to CSS.

Most developers never have to support IE 11 so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Yes, Internet Explorer is no longer a supported browser its outdated and its announced that internet explorer will no longer be the part of Microsoft 365 apps
