Don’t give recruiters your resume in an editable document format. Basically, all of the parser tools work on PDF files, they would only ask for a .docx if they want to edit your resumé without your knowledge.

I’ve made mine a webpage that displays as a standard letter size so I can “print” it to a PDF for most jobs (when printing it actually automatically conforms to the paper so I could make it A4 or something if needed).
