I’m doing the Responsive Web Design certification and during the CSS some lessons won’t accept my code, even though it is correct. The sample website on the right shows what it was supposed to, but when I run the tests it says that there is a missing step, as it shows on the picture.
Please help! I really like the course, but I’m not sure I can get my certification with this issue.
Hi @gmrxssi !
Welcome to the forum!
Please write code directly in the forum instead of posting screenshots so we can help you.
When you enter a code block into a forum post, please precede it with a separate line of three backticks and follow it with a separate line of three backticks to make it easier to read.
You can also use the “preformatted text” tool in the editor (</>
) to add backticks around text.
See this post to find the backtick on your keyboard.
Note: Backticks (`) are not single quotes (’).
Also, please provide the challenge link so we know what you are working on.
For future challenges, you can use the ASK for help button which generates all of this information in a forum post for you.
Hello @gmrxssi, I had this exact same issue and I was scratching my head until it dawned on me.
The problem is because of the Dark Reader add-on, which changes the CSS of each website to create a dark theme for each of them.
You can just toggle the add-on for freecodecamp.org temporarily and that will fix the issue.
omg hahahah it makes a lot of sense now!
thank you so much!
