Certification Projects: Questions and Clarifications

Hello everyone

I have been using the freeCodeCamp platform for about two weeks now, and I must say it is an amazing tool especially for those of us who are passionate about learning.
I have always dreamed of making my way in the world of web development, and although I’m not yet sure if I’ll get there, freecodecamp is opening up a universe of possibilities that goes far beyond what I learned from various youtube tutorials.
I am writing to ask for some clarifications regarding the path I am following.
I am currently focusing on the Responsive Web Design course, which I consider the fundamental foundation, and my goal is to earn my first certification.
My plan is to start with HTML and CSS and then move on to a JavaScript course; in short, I am beginning with the first course and will continue with the others later.

To cut a long story short, I have two questions:

Is the learning path I am following appropriate for someone who wants to become a well-rounded web developer?

Regarding the final projects in the course, which require the completion of five projects, must they be created entirely from scratch?

I fully understand that the code must be written by me to truly learn and copying would be both cheating and a waste of time but I would like to know if it is acceptable to use the demo documentation or generate text with AI to structure the project, which I would then adapt to my own code. Honestly, I’d rather not have to become a writer as well :joy:
In my initial projects, I tried to create the documentation from scratch, avoiding replicating the demo as much as possible. I ask these questions because I have seen several YouTube tutorials where the demo texts, structure, and images are copied verbatim. I apologize to anyone who might feel implicated; I am not suggesting that this constitutes cheating, but I wonder if it is acceptable to submit projects in this manner for evaluation.

Thank you in advance to everyone!

on freeCodeCamp there are two paths you can take for web dev, the old path, starting from Responsive Web Design and doing the certs in order

or you can do the Certified Full Stack Developer course, it’s the newest updated version of the core curriculum

yes, you must write all the code yourself. otherwise it’s a violation of the Academic Honesty Pledge

In the meantime, thank you,
Yes it is not normal that I have to write the code, in fact I was referring only to the texts and not to the code. I’m following the first course :frowning: I’d be on my third project, it seems like a shame to give it up now to start the new one, in any case I think I’ll start the new one after finishing the first one.
Thanks so much again

a lot of what’s in Responsive Web Design has been ported in the Full Stack curriculum

you should not copy the demo project, you should make a project in your own style with your own content
