FCC runs slow and freezes often

Hey guys,

I’m using the latest version of Safari on the latest macOS (currently Monterey 12.4) and a new Macbook air. Every time I use freecodecamp, it will start going very slow and sometimes freezes for several seconds up to a few minutes. I often get the warning at the top of the browser window “this webpage is using significant memory…” How do I reconcile with this?

Is there something the creators can do to modify the website so it doesn’t use so much memory? I don’t have this problem with any other websites except Khan Academy’s coding tutorials, so I’m guessing the online code editor is what’s pulling so much juice.

In the meantime, is there another browser that might be better? Or, do you have any other ideas for solutions?

What system/browser do you use? Do you have the same issue?

Google chrome has always worked well for me and is my default browser.
Maybe you can try that and see if it makes a difference.

I use Firefox for various reasons. Never had an issue with freeCodeCamp using it.

I’ve heard safari doesn’t play nice with freeCodeCamp from various forum users so another browser may be the best fix.
