Hate html and css, want to like it

I’m probably gonna fail web development class because both HTML and CSS are boring it’s so stale and stationary like a statue and it’s not moving or doing anything (except maybe design/skeleton of a website)

HOWEVER I like learning JavaScript because it’s…I don’t know how to describe it but it’s more alive and moving and able to do stuff?! And they syntax is just nicer to look at.

How do I make myself like CSS and HTML when they are such boring languages? Like I get they are used for UI and stuff like that but it’s just so boring to work with.

Majority of the class work is using HTML and CSS and I can’t bring myself to do most of them

Is this normal? To hate CSS and HTML but like Javascript?

EDIT: IM NOT FAILING OUT OF SPITE OR ON PURPOSE, I DO WANT TO DO WELL IN THE CLASS, However it just won’t go into my brain when I try to pay attention at the lectures, and then eventually procrastinating on the assignment because it gives me dread, then repeating the cycle…

It is normal to like something more than another. However, you must pay attention and do the required work in class to allow yourself the freedom to choose your future career or job. Good marks will let you have your pick of jobs rather than be stuck with whatever is left.
So just learn what you have to just so you can ensure a future with many choices when you move on from being a student to looking for a job.

Build some cool projects with it, how about static ( but quiet complex for beginner ) pages like Google sign up page, FB sign up page etc. Make it responsive, Accessible as well.

Do build and share your experiences and code here for review.
