How to give your Portfolio a domain name

This might be the dumbest question of all time but I have tried looking online and I can’t really find a good answer. So maybe any of you could help me out.

So, I am currently working on my portfolio, coding everything from scratch and it came to thought-- how do I give my portfolio and coding projects a url address?

Any suggestions or How To(s)?

Again, this is probably the most ridiculous question so bare with me.

Thanks,
Silas

You need a hosting service and a registered domain from a registrar.

https://www.domcomp.com/

Once you get a domain name you setup the DNS on the server to point to your domain name.

If the site is just static files like a portfolio you can host it on Netifly, githubpages, Amazon, etc.
