Hey everyone!
I just hit the 4 month mark on my coding journey and I am working on my first project outside of a class assignment. It is has been good and frustrating at the same time. Sometimes I feel like I spend most of my time researching how to do something or fixing a bug than actual coding. But then I received some good advice from an unlikely source.
The other day, I was giving zoom music lessons to one of my beginner students and she was struggling with trying to play high notes. I kept reassuring her that it just takes time and everyone struggles at first.
Then she said, “I know it sucks right now but I am just going to try to enjoy the learning process. Best case scenario I get really good and worse case I learn some new things in the process.”
My student was 100% right. Best case scenario I actually become a developer one day and worst case I learn some new skills and have a different career.
I don’t have a crystal ball, and have know idea if I am cut out for this but I am trying and actually enjoying the learning process. So my advice to all beginners(including myself) is to just keep going and you never know what will happen.
Happy coding!
