Inquiry About Alignment Between freeCodeCamp YouTube Courses and Website Curriculum

Dear freeCodeCamp Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently exploring the freeCodeCamp curriculum available on your website as well as the video courses on your YouTube channel. I would like to understand if the content covered in these two resources is aligned or if there are differences between them.

Specifically, I am interested in knowing if the two sources—namely, the courses (front end development and back end development courses) listed on the freeCodeCamp YouTube channel and the curriculum provided on your website—are the same in terms of topics and depth. Are there any significant differences or additional topics covered in one resource compared to the other?

Your guidance will help me better plan my learning path and ensure I am utilizing the resources effectively.

Thank you for your assistance!

They are definitely not the same or in alignment. I believe the YouTube courses are much more varied and target a very different audience. The curriculum here is project-based and you don’t get to see someone solve it unless you seek out an independent YouTuber who has filmed themselves solving it.

Is it more beneficial to follow the structured curriculum provided on FreeCodeCamp’s website, or should I focus on completing two specific courses from FreeCodeCamp’s YouTube channel?

are you a complete beginner? Tell us more about your educational background in general first.

Yes, I’m a beginner in this field with some knowledge of HTML and CSS. I want to complete the FreeCodeCamp curriculum and become a full-stack developer. What is the best way to learn: Should I follow the structured curriculum on the FreeCodeCamp website, or would it be more beneficial to watch the two courses offered on the FreeCodeCamp YouTube channel?

my opinion is to start with the curriculum here and use YouTube as a secondary resource when you’re working on your portfolio (which should have projects that are more complex than the ones you’d do here)
