Intimidated by the personal portfolio project

So, as the title says, I just started the personal portfolio project and holy shit! It seems like such an epic jump from the tribute page! Upon first glance it seems like I recognize almost nothing in the example codepen. But, as I’m sure I’m not the first one to feel this way or make this kind of post, does anyone have any tips for how to start sectioning this beast off? I’m terrified of it, but also pretty excited to be able to replicate it in the near future. Thanks!
