Learn CSS Colors by Building a Set of Colored Markers - Step 14

Tell us what’s happening:

Describe your issue in detail here.

It’s telling me to put my div elements within the div with the class container, I’ve tried a couple different ways but then it says there isn’t an opening or closing when there is.

Your code so far

<!-- file: index.html -->
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
    <title>Colored Markers</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
  </head>
  <body>
    <h1>CSS Color Markers</h1>

<!-- User Editable Region -->

    <div class="container">
      <div class="marker">
        <div class="marker">
          <div class="marker">
          </div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>

<!-- User Editable Region -->

  </body>
</html>
/* file: styles.css */
h1 {
  text-align: center;
}

.marker {
  width: 200px;
  height: 25px;
  background-color: red;
  margin: auto;
}

try to set them in lines

<div></div>

Hello @mad1son !

Try placing the closing div on the same line as the opening div for all the div except the container div. Its closing div should be below the other div,

Example:

<div class ="container">
<first one></one>
<second one></one>
<third one></one>
</div>

I used other reference and did not put class, because you
know how to do that.
I hope my example helps you move to the next step.

Happy coding and keep up the good progress @mad1son !
