Tell us what’s happening: Step 46 Won’t show instructions nor let me pass
Describe your issue in detail here.
Has anyone run into this. Step 46 will NOT accept my code because it no longer shows the steps directions. It is just a page of code. So I cannot press “Check your code” When I go out and back in the course step 46 is blacked out. Do I just need to start the course over after I log out?
I’ve gone back in and out to see if it would help but that step is just gone.

Learning to describe problems is hard, but it is an important part of learning how to code.
Also, the more you say, the more we can help!
Hello @Creggt1 !
Have you tried using a different browser to enter?
I am wondering if there many not be some browser extensions causing the problems for you with the course.
Do you use dark mode? Sometimes, that creates issues with the program too.
I find that Firefox, Edge are good for the most part.
Have you cleared the cache?
Just tossing everything I can think that may help you, into the box.
If it continues and you have tried the following,
Your code has passed on my side.
Try the following:
- Reset step
- Refresh page (F5)
- Some browser extensions, such as ad-blockers and dark mode extensions can interfere with the tests.
- If you are having problems, recommendation is to disable extensions that modify the content or layout of pages, while taking the course.
- Try a different browser.
I suggest reaching out to support at support@freecodecamp.org
from the email address you use for this account, and if you can screenshot the issue, and explain, as clearly as here, along with your browser and extension information, that will give them a place to start.
They are a fantastic support team! I have needed their assistance on more than one occasion, mostly due to my own errors. They are patient and super to work with on a problem if we need their help.
I hope the issue is fixed either through the steps I provided, or with the help of support.
Wishing you good success on your coding journey.
