Hope you all are doing well. I started on this journey of Coding on FreeCodeCamp and actually love it. I wanted to know if anyone knows of any jobs that will pay you as you learn and do freelance projects?
I would like to meet new people that’s in this field of work thats willing to teach, mentor or even invite into a community group.
The only jobs that pay for you to learn are usually internships. These internships are usually given to people in school who are near/close to being “fully-job ready” as a way to expose them to careers, and to expose companies to possible future hires. If your just starting you might struggle to find any internship without any pre-existing justification as to why you’d be a good future hire.
Freelance wise there will always be a section of experienced individuals willing to work for a given gig at a given rate. Furthermore there will be even more experienced individuals who would be able to complete most tasks quickly/cheaply and effectively.
Without any experience its rather difficult to get any work you can complete and still actually get paid as those who pay have little reason to believe you can complete the work.
The final aspect is many jobs could be completed without any freelance/dev work via pre-existing tools designed to help non-coders. Stuff like Wix and Squarespace allow people to create well designed websites without knowing any code.
Because of this the best way to get work is to actually learn and gain enough experience to be able to compete for these freelance gigs due to your pre-existing experience, or to get a full-time job doing this work.
True, I guess I’ll just keep practicing on my free time and meet helpful coders like yourself as I go. Thanks for replying and giving me your advice on it!
