Do we have to write the project in repl.it or can we do it in codepen.io

You can write code in both or any other also, which is comfort for you.
it depends, codepen is fine for responsive web design and front-end projects, for the others repl.it is better

all of those threads preceed the Python curriculum which was introduced in summer 2020
they are about a different project
