I’ve encountered an issue with my progress on freeCodeCamp. Here’s a summary of what happened:
I completed the first four modules multiple times and successfully submitted the first certification project. After verifying that these modules appeared as completed on the summary page, I moved on to complete three more modules and started “Learn Accessibility By Building a Quiz.” I also double-checked yesterday that all the modules appeared “blue” (completed) on the summary page.
However, today I reopened the website, and my progress has reverted to a much earlier state, as shown in the attached screenshots. I have already had to repeat some of these modules several times, and while I value the learning experience, redoing them yet again is not helpful or enjoyable for me.
It is possible to restore my progress to reflect the work I have completed? Let me know if any additional information is needed to resolve this issue.
your certification project is still marked as completed, as such no progress toward getting the certification is lost. The practice projects are not mandatory to claim the certification.
Unfortunately we don’t know what is causing this behaviour of some steps losing the checkmark
We are unable to add manually the completion of the challenges to your account
There should be no risk to loose progress there once the checkmark is on the project. To be sure, if after submitting a certification project you go back to the curriculum with the list of challenges or your settings where the completed certification projects are listed, and then reload the page, if the checkmark stick, it’s saved
That’s what I’ve been doing with the modules, I always verify that they’re marked as completed on the summary page before moving on (every 3-5 step). However, this hasn’t ensured anything, as I’m still facing the issue of lost progress.
I’ll try the reload thing, in addition to the summary check
