What do i need to learn first in this topic and how do i make progress to the point of completing challenges and doing projects

Work from top to bottom. The courses are laid out to build on what you learn from each one, so you should do them in order. So start with catphotoapp and keep going from there.
You do a project after you complete its four associated courses.
