Struggling to Get Positive Responses in Job Applications

Hi FreeCodeCamp Community,

I hope you’re all doing well! I’m reaching out here because I could use some advice and insights from this amazing community.

A bit about me: I’m a web development enthusiast with intermediate knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React.js. I’ve completed multiple projects. I’ve also dabbled in Bootstrap, SASS, and NPM. Recently, I’ve been focusing on strengthening my JavaScript Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) skills.

Despite building up my skill set, I’ve been struggling to land web development opportunities. I’ve applied to several positions in India but haven’t received positive responses so far. I’m also open to working remotely with companies anywhere in the world to gain experience and grow my career.

I’m aware that many companies ask for additional skills like Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript, which I’m planning to learn soon. However, it’s been disheartening to feel like I’m not progressing fast enough to match job requirements.

This is my Resume:

I’d love to get advice from you all:

What steps can I take to improve my chances of landing an entry-level web development role?

How can I stand out as a candidate in this competitive field?

Are there specific resources or strategies I can use to connect with companies that are open to hiring remotely or from India?

I’m eager to grow and contribute, and any feedback or guidance you can provide would mean a lot. Thanks in advance for your time and support!

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Do you’ve Github profile where I can check your projects ?

A post was merged into an existing topic: Welcome to the freeCodeCamp forum. Take a moment to introduce yourself here.

I would suggest below for getting internship / jr developer job

  1. In Resume, put your GH profile and list of projects on top, so that hiring manager can check your code quality

  2. Continue building project and commiting on GH on daily basis

  3. Search jobs through linkedin and try to get in touch with people working in those companies.
Many a times, hiring manager will prefer resume from existing employee’s contact than recruiter.

  4. Join local meetups and increase your network.

All the very best, you will get job sooner.
