I was having the same problem and found a work around with the help of Manish-Girl. Take a look at our discussion from this evening “Images from Dropbox or links from Web.” I had imported the image I wanted to my laptop then stored it in dropbox (you can resize while doing that if the image is larger than you need). I was having problems getting the Dropbox image to load. It seems you need to change the “www” in the url to “dl.” See the discussion. It should help.
