VS Code Problems

It’s been a few weeks since I last used VS Code. Now, when I open the app and try to work on a project, I’m having trouble.

First, when I tried to use “Open in Live Server”, VS Code would not open the file I had open and was working on but opened a different file instead, displaying from the other file. I tried closing VSC and opening the folder and file again only to get the same result. I tried uninstalling Live Server extension, closing VSC, reopening VSC, installing Live Server extension, then opening my project folder and HTML file only to have the same result. I cannot get Live Server to display the file I’m working on in my Chrome browser.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled VS Code. Upon opening I installed Live Server extension then opened my project folder but it does not load. The Explorer column appears as in the screenshot . . . no project folder files are listed.

I’ve slept more than twice since last using VSC; so the problem might be an operator head space issue.

Can anyone suggest how I might get VSC a) to properly open my project folder, b) to get Open in Live Server to work again?

Perseverance pays off.

I uninstalled VS Code but not before downloading a fresh copy. I then reinstalled VSC from the fresh download copy. I then replaced my project folder from the last backup. Upon opening VS Code I was able to open the project folder (from my backup) then open my html file. I can now get Live server to display my html in the Chrome browser.

Posted just in case someone else stumbles upon my issue.

I’ve had a lot easier time using an extension called “Live Preview”
