What's your pitch line?

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question for you all. I know that it is a bit personal but maybe we can get some trend.

What was your pitch line when the hiring manager asked you something like: “Why should I hire you?” which is somehow a polite way of asking “Why should I care about you?”

So how did you sell yourself in a one line sentence? Or what would you say?

Thank you for your answers!

I definitely think this is going to depend on each individual. Just cause a “line” worked for me, doesn’t mean it will work for this person or the next, and that goes for basically any job, not just one in a dev position.

I think at the end of the day, you have to show why you would be a valuable asset to the company, which will probably be highlighted in your character as well as your portfolio. Show them that you want to always be learning, that you care about career development and growing as a developer, and not so much that you are there for a pay cheque. At the end of the day, just be yourself!
