I’m working on the calculator in the Front End cert. I’ve been on it for a month now.
And what’s even more discouraging is I’m looking for work in the field with ReactJS and Redux and I’m not seeing anything. It’s like I need to be programming on my free time in order to prove I really want this.
I like the technology. I like what I do from time to time. But I keep getting this feeling that if I’m not trying to program every waking moment of my life, I won’t go anywhere. Which is frustrating to deal with.
You don’t need to spend every waking moment learning to code, but it does take a lot of time and practice. So if you can only spend a little bit of time on it every week, it will take more weeks in total. It’s a skill that is learned primarily through experience, so there isn’t a way to skip to the end.
The last two projects for most people usually take the longest.
Especially when it comes to passing the edge cases.
For me, it helped researching the forum for other people that experienced the same struggles and reading through those discussions.
I am not sure where you are based, but what kinds of job sites are you looking into?
Maybe looking at different job posting sites might yield better results.
You don’t need to be programming 24/7 .
It is better to have shorter high quality study session than longer unproductive ones.
