Looking for buddies

want coding buddies (:

Please don’t bump your thread like this. It’s been 2 minutes!

It’s not really clear from your post exactly what you want.

If you need help with the fCC curriculum post a question here and someone will help you.

Come on, I’ve tried every way to get a coding partner and nobody wants to.

No one is obligated to accept your offer. If no one wans to join that’s their decision. You can also look through older threads where there have been people asking for coding buddies as well. You can see if some of those people are still active, and see if you can join in. Also, check out the FCC discord and try there as well. Its only been 20 minutes though for this thread. Give it some time

fine i’ll wait for someone

I suggest you join the Discord server at https://chat.freecodecamp.org/

It’s more chatty, and there are group initiatives happening now and then (like, applications to an hackathon happening next month just closed)

Here’s where the issue arises when someone says “I’m looking for a coding buddy!” Whether here or on the Discord or on any “code in public” platform: You’re defeating the purpose. The idea is that the entire community is your coding buddy. We are your accountability partner, we are your sounding board, we are your peers. The whole community.

By taking the conversation out of this context (or out of the public chats in Discord, or by privatizing the conversation wherever), you’re losing the community guidance that others might be able to provide, and you’re also losing community guidelines.

In public communities, there are moderators and admins who will help keep focus, or help minimize negative or off-topic conversations. There are great and good reasons for that. By moving the conversation to a private one, none of that applies. If things go south as can often happen, it becomes a “he-said-she-said” thing.

By keeping it an open conversation, those folks who have other insight (whether from years of experience, or months of running into the same walls you might) can pitch in. More voices === more perspective ==== deeper insights.

Keep it public, my friend.
