I find that I learn best when I reverse engineer existing content to see how someone else did it. But I don’t want to outright copy to pass the challenge. What do I do?

you can study how a page is made, then close it and start your own project from a blank page, if you have doubts on how to do something use google, look at previous challenges, ask for help, but never open the page you studied
your goal is to learn how to make
projects from scratch, it is difficult but an important skill.
