Reach out to recruiters after apply?

I recently got a referral in a well known company in the US and after that I followed the regular process of applying through the company careers site.

However I’m more like an action person and hate to send my resume and not hearing back. I was wondering if it’s okay to reach out through LinkedIn to recruiters and let them know that I’m very interested in the position and I already applied. Does it seems like annoying or may I get something out of it?

Or is any better way to take action over it?

wouldn’t hurt.

nothing hurts when you’re going for the job. just don’t follow up every other day. engage enough to let them know that you’re waiting for a response, but don’t badger.

Whenever I applied to a job through an automated process, I always emailed the recruiter (with my resume attached).
